Skoloff & Wolfe, P.C. is a New Jersey law firm with a national reputation and a far-reaching presence. The firm is led by co-managing partners and brothers, Jonathan W. Wolfe and David B. Wolfe and represents notable individuals and business clients in matters of regional and national interest. The evidence is in how our practice groups excel for our clients. The firm’s property tax group has secured recent results that include more than $1.7 billion in assessment reductions on behalf of our clients, in addition to specializing in underwriting and due diligence for billions of dollars of transactions. Our founders, Gary N. Skoloff and Saul A. Wolfe, are deeply experienced in their chosen areas of practice in matrimonial law and real property valuation, respectively. Mr. Skoloff is the co-author of a family law treatise in New Jersey, The New Jersey Family Law Practice now in its fifteenth edition. Mr. Wolfe was instrumental in the effort to create the New Jersey Tax Court and past-president of the NJ Bar Association. He helped draft its original Rules of Practice and served as one of the original members of the New Jersey Court Committee on the Tax Court.
Today, our co-managing partners continue our founders’ dedication by asserting their industry-shifting influence in many ways. Jonathan Wolfe has recognized on the list “Leading Lawyers In America” by Best Lawyers (selection methodology here). He is also recognized in the list “500 Leading Lawyers” by Lawdragon (selection methodology here). He recently served as Chair of the American Bar Association’s Family Law Section and was also recognized by International Business Times. He continues to represent publicly and privately held companies and individuals in high-stakes complex business litigation.
David Wolfe serves on the Board of the National Association of Property Tax Attorneys (NAPTA) and as the Co-Chair of the Real Property Tax Practice Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA). In 2020 he was listed as an ROI Influencer in Real Estate.

Advancing Diversity & Inclusion within Legal Organizations
As Chair of the American Bar Association (ABA) Legal Opportunity Scholarship Fund, Skoloff & Wolfe, P.C. co-managing partner, Jonathan Wolfe, oversaw the granting of more than $5 million to 350 law students of racial and cultural diversity. As Chair of the ABA Family Law Section, he also established the ABA Family Law Charitable Fund to promote diversity and access to justice by, among other things, supporting a fellowship program that provides funding for diverse lawyers to attend and participate in section conferences.
Co-managing partner, David Wolfe, served as the co-chair for the ABA Diversity & Inclusion 360 Commission and successfully passed the creation of mandatory diversity and inclusion CLE as a separate credit requirement minimum for states’ CLE requirements. In addition, he led the creation of an implicit bias toolkit to increase awareness among judges, prosecutors, and public defenders on the impact of implicit bias and to offer suggestions on combatting it.
Advancing Diversity & Inclusion within the Law Profession
By establishing and matching contributions for the Saul Wolfe Legal Opportunity Scholarship Fund, we were able to raise approximately $100K for scholarships for diverse law students. In addition, Saul Wolfe was the 2015 recipient of the New Jersey State Bar Association Diversity Award, given by the Bar Association’s Diversity Committee.
Skoloff & Wolfe, P.C. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (SWDEI) Resource Group
The SWDEI Resource Group is a member-led open forum, with the purpose of educating employees, increasing law firm diversity, and promoting inclusivity at the firm with respect to diverse communities, to better serve our employees, clients, and community. SWDEI meets to discuss and plan initiatives and opportunities, and also provides a space for employees to learn more about each other. Among these initiatives is the SWDEI cultural celebration newsletter, which shares resources, events, local businesses, and action items for employees to use and circulate in their professional and personal circles.
