Michaela Cohen joined Skoloff & Wolfe, P.C. in early 2021 after transitioning her practice from New York to New Jersey. Michaela began her legal career working in restructuring and commercial litigation and compliance at Milbank LLP in New York City. During her time at Milbank, Michaela participated in the firm’s pro bono program representing victims of domestic violence in obtaining divorces and received a pro bono award for her efforts.   

Building on her pro bono experience, Michaela joined the firm of Alter, Wolff & Foley LLP to practice family and matrimonial law. During her time at AWF, she successfully represented clients with challenging custody situations and complex financial and business interests in a wide variety of matters. In addition, Michaela has given Continuing Legal Education talks on different aspects of family law, including court procedure and high-conflict custody scenarios.

Michaela understands the importance of practicing with compassion and empathy and getting to know her clients and their individual needs.

Michaela attended Brown University, graduating magna cum laude with an honors thesis distinction in Economics, and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She attended Columbia Law School, graduating as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar in 2012. She is admitted in New York and her membership in New Jersey is pending.
