For over 30 years, Bea has passionately devoted her practice to representing clients in all aspects of family law. With vast experience in the field, Bea is a true counselor to her clients, working with them to understand the issues they confront and identify their best path forward to achieve their goals. Bea understands that no two cases are identical and each case has a profound impact on the life of each client.

Bea’s family law experience dates back to her days as a family law clerk for The Honorable Conrad W. Krafte, a well renowned jurist and among the most widely published trial court judges on family matters. Since that time, her clients — from all industries and professions — have benefited of her expertise, tenacity, attention to detail, compassion, and hard work.

Bea represents clients in a variety of matters, including divorce, custody, parenting time, domestic violence, prenuptial agreements, equitable distribution, alimony and child support. Her commitment to her practice and the success she has achieved for her clients have resulted in numerous awards for excellence in the family law field and recognition by her peers and leading publications. She is a Past-President of the Barry I. Croland Family Law Inn of Court, an organization committed to educating and fostering relationships between family law attorneys and judges. Among other distinctions, she has received the Essex County Bar Association’s “Family Lawyer of the Year Award” and has been regularly recognized on Super Lawyers lists for the field of family law. She is regularly called upon to share her insight and expertise in the field of family law with other attorneys, judges, and other professionals.

Professional Activities

Bea is active in the organized bar. In addition to having served as President of the Inn of Court, she is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association Family Law Executive Committee and the Essex County Family Law Executive Committee. She is also a member of the Bergen County Bar Association and serves as an Early Settlement Panelist for both Bergen and Essex counties. She is a Senior Editor of The Family Lawyer. Ms. Kandell continues to administer the presentation of educational family law programs for judges, law clerks and attorneys at the Inn of Court, where she continues to serve as a member of the Board and as a frequent presenter.

Bea is a frequent lecturer on family law topics state-wide and for county bar associations. She is a contributing author for the ICLE New Jersey Elder and Disability Law Practice Manual.

Honors & Awards

Bea has been recognized on lists by Super Lawyers Magazine from 2010 through 2016. She received the Essex County Bar Association Family Law Attorney Achievement award in 2008.
