Michael J. Weil is a seasoned matrimonial attorney, with experience handling high net-worth and complex cases, litigated matters, and family law appeals.  A native of New Jersey, he joined Skoloff & Wolfe, P.C. in 2023.

Michael began his legal career as an appellate law clerk to the Connecticut Appellate Court, then practiced with a boutique matrimonial law firm in Greenwich, Connecticut, focusing exclusively on high net-worth divorces. After moving to New Jersey, Michael clerked for the Hon. Anthony Picheca, J.S.C. in the Somerset County Family Part, before joining a well-respected matrimonial firm in Flemington, New Jersey. 

For the past five years, Michael practiced family law with the Roseland law firm Snyder Sarno D’Aniello Maceri & Da’Costa, where he successfully represented clients in all aspects of matrimonial and family law matters.  

Michael has served as an Early Settlement Panelist in Somerset and Essex counties and is a Fee Arbitrator in Vicinage XIII. He is a member of the Barry Croland Family Law Inns of Court (two-time presenter) and the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Appellate and Family Law sections. He sits on the Family Law section’s Young Lawyers Subcommittee. Michael was previously a mentee of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyer’s – New Jersey chapter’s mentor/ mentee program. 

Michael was an editor of the Connecticut Law Review, which published his scholarly note. He also served as a teaching assistant in Constitutional Law and Insurance Law, and was awarded a CALI award in Criminal Procedure. While in law school, Michael volunteered at the Center for Children’s Advocacy and taught civics education at a local high school.
