William Rogers has built his career representing commercial property owners and municipalities in all aspects of real estate tax appeal litigation. William continues to address his clients' property tax liability issues affecting restaurants, strip malls, medical and non-medical office buildings, warehouse and industrial buildings, marinas, co-ops, condominiums, apartment buildings and the redevelopment of former government buildings before the New Jersey Tax Court and various County Boards of Taxation. William has also focused his practice on tax abatements and eminent domain litigation.
William has served as a Condemnation Commissioner in Essex County and as Chief Assistant Assessor for the City of East Orange. William has also managed multifamily properties. These unique experiences provide him with greater perspective in negotiating and trying his cases.Professional Activities
William is the chair of the General Practice Subcommittee of the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on the Tax Court. His Bar Association activity includes serving on the New Jersey State Bar Association's (NJSBA) Membership Committee; serving as past Chair of the NJSBA’s Election Committee; serving as past Chair and current Board Member of the NJSBA’s Minorities in the Profession Section and Past Treasurer and current President elect of the Garden State Bar Association.
In 2017 the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law presented William with the 2017 Professional Lawyer of the Year Award.
