Biography
Mr. Roettger joined Skoloff & Wolfe, P.C. in 1992. He is one of the more experienced practitioners in the State of New Jersey in the area of property valuation, having concentrated his practice exclusively in this field since 1967. Mr. Roettger is a former Deputy Attorney General for the State of New Jersey, where he was assigned to defend condemnation matters on behalf of the state.
Mr. Roettger is the author of the numerous articles and manuals in the fields of condemnation and tax-appeals, including “Condemnation Practice: A manual for New Jersey Attorneys,” published by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education, “Preparation of Your Expert Witnesses for Trial (Preparing for Their Cross-Examination”), published by the American Bar Association, Litigation Section, “A Condemnation Case: Getting Your Money’s Worth,” published by Trial Magazine, and “Obtaining Relief from Discriminatory Assessments,” published by New Jersey Tax Notes, Public Affairs Research Institute of New Jersey, Inc., and “Just Compensation: Frustration of an Owner’s Plans,” published American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers, Condemnation Appraisal Practice, Volume II.
Mr. Roettger , who previously served as an adjunct professor at Rider College, has been a lecturer on property valuation litigation for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education, the Society of Real Estate Appraisers, the American Society of Appraisers and the American Bar Association Litigation Section.
Mr. Roettger has extensive experience preparing and trying major property tax and condemnation (eminent domain) matters in New Jersey trial courts and has numerous reported decisions to his credit in the New Jersey Tax Court and at the Appellate Division.
